Later in life he travelled to the northeast to attend and play college lacrosse at St. Lawrence University on the U.S.-Canadian border. This was where he took his first course on Renewable Energy. After graduating from St. Lawrence with a degree in Environmental Studies, Gardner split his time between living in Montana and Patagonia, Chile perusing his passion in the fly fishing industry. He recently has decided to move on from fishing and focus on something that will contribute to a more sustainable planet.
When not working in the summertime, you can find Gardner in his drift boat in search of the best dry fly fishing or in his backyard tending to the grill. In the winter you can likely look for him on his skis or in his house cooking. An avid traveler, it is not rare that he may be somewhere else all together.
