OnSite Energy is looking for an enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated, and organized individual to join our team as an Electrical Apprentice.

The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for the successful installation of assigned projects. The Electrical Apprentice works closely with their assigned Journeyman Electrician, Field Operations Manager, and Project Manager to organize, execute, and follow-up on each individual project.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the Journeyman Electrician and installation crew in executing quality solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system installations, and general electric service work
  • Review assigned project details and drawings, attend site meetings, and assist in project planning
  • Analyze and enact job site safety requirements and adhere to general company safety protocols at all times
  • Keep work trucks, shop, tools, and materials organized and in excellent condition
  • Constantly improve project mobilization, general site preparation and clean up
  • Meet with the Journeyman Electrician, Project Manager, and Field Operations Manager on a regular basis to determine the week’s installation schedule
  • Track all labor hours per job, labor class code, and job task
  • Track and submit time and materials records per job as necessary to supervisor
Critical Skills/Expectations
  • Maintain good standing with Montana IEC Electrical Apprentice Program with the goal of completing all classroom training and required apprenticeship hours within the standard four-year period
  • Pursue Journeyman Electrician certification immediately after completing the Montana IEC Electrical Apprentice Program
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent customer service skills in every interaction
  • Code of Conduct – act accordingly as a guest at our customer’s home
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with others, including clients, subcontractors, and inspectors
  • Teamwork – able to establish collaborative working relationships with peers and supervisors
  • Strong desire to work for a renewable energy company, and interest in developing professionally
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction techniques
  • Must be able to comfortably lift 40 pounds, climb ladders, work on roofs and in crawl spaces in varying hot and cold temperatures
  • Occasional overnight travel for jobs up to 5 hours away
  • Basic computer and mobile phone competence, including Excel, Word, Gmail, and other common software platforms
Time Frame:
  • Full Time Annual (Average 40 Hour Work Week)
Starting Compensation Package
  • $24 per hour plus tuition support
  • Employee benefits package (enclosure)
