What's a B Corp anyways?

Certified B Corporations meet the highest standards of verified overall social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, and aspire to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. OnSite Energy became a Certified B Corp in the summer of 2017. We are proud to be part of a global movement of people using business as a force for good™, and are endlessly inspired and motivated by the incredible work of our peers.

Throughout the month of March, B Corps around the world will be raising awareness for the importance of this movement, celebrating its global social and environmental impact thus far, and highlighting some exciting projects that are in the works. For example, check out this Collaborative Climate Change Action Strategy launched by fellow BCorps at a recent leadership summit.

If you are a business owner, we highly recommend looking into the B Corp assessment and certification process. There are currently only seven BCorps in the state of Montana, and it would be great to see that list continue to grow.

How else can I get involved?

It's important to remember that every purchase you make is a vote for something! By doing business with B Corps and purchasing products with the B Corp label, you are casting your vote in favor of building a more inclusive and sustainable economy, reducing inequality, working towards a healthier environment, and creating more high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose. Looking for a new job? Be sure to research what employers in your field are certified B Corps. When you work for a B Corp, you know that part of the company's core mission is to treat you well as an employee, and that you will be contributing to a positive environmental and social impact in your community.
