There are moments in life that demand an awareness of our own absurdity. I had one just the other day. As I often do when returning from work, where my days are filled thinking and talking about solar energy, I came home and started thinking and talking about solar energy. How much did my solar electric system produce today? To what temperature did my solar thermal collector raise my hot water tank? How many kilowatt-hour (kWh) credits do I have banked with the utility? Will I make it through the winter without tapping into grid power?
